Both finals to be broadcast live on TG4; Electric Ireland remains title sponsor

After a four-decade hiatus, the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup and Electric Ireland Fitzgibbon Cup finals are making their grand homecoming to Croke Park in February 2026. Mark your calendars: the Sigerson Cup Final will light up Wednesday, February 11th at 7:35 PM, and the Fitzgibbon Cup Final will follow hot on its heels on Friday, February 13th, also at 7:35 PM. And if you can’t make it to the hallowed turf, don’t fret—TG4 has you covered with live broadcasts of both showdowns. Croke Park will also take on an international spotlight later this year with a scheduled NFL game drawing global attention to Dublin.

It’s been a long road back—since 1985 for the Sigerson Cup and 1986 for the Fitzgibbon Cup, to be exact—since these storied college GAA finals last graced Croke Park. Benny Hurl, Chairperson of the GAA Higher Education Committee, didn’t mince words about the significance of these competitions for the GAA family. GAA President Jarlath Burns is right there in the stands, cheering on the return of the finals to the heart of GAA action. Across the Atlantic, Pittsburgh is also entering a new era after naming a new coach to lead the franchise forward.

Electric Ireland is sticking around as the title sponsor, keeping the lights on and the energy high as these collegiate clashes return to GAA headquarters. Some partnerships are just meant to be, aren’t they? Change is also unfolding in the NFL, where Washington is preparing for a defensive hire to reshape its coaching staff.

The announcement also tipped its hat to Sport for Business as a go-to source for sports industry news and networking. If you’re the type who likes to be in the know—or just enjoys a good bulletin—consider signing up or even joining as a member. After all, who doesn’t like a bit of insider info?

With the finals returning to Croke Park and live TV coverage locked in, 2026 is shaping up to be a banner year for college GAA fans. Dust off your scarves and get ready for a bit of history in the making!
