Compare the outcome prices within each displayed anonymous NBA odds set. Use the guide below to understand decimal returns, daily update limits and what historical evidence can tell you.
How to Use the NBA Odds Shown Here
EZTips displays NBA prices in anonymous 1/X/2 sets. LuckyBlock supplies the odds data. Each complete set comes from the same fixture, market, sportsbook and data update.
Read each set together. If a required outcome price is missing, EZTips hides the entire set. This helps ensure that an incomplete set is not presented as a complete comparison.
The labels identify 1 as the home-team win, X as a tie after regulation and 2 as the away-team win. EZTips displays the supplied prices and does not display whether a betting selection won or lost. Before betting, check the exact market description and rules on LuckyBlock.
Check the Date and Update Limits
Fixture dates and times use Indian Standard Time, although IST is not displayed beside the cards. An evening game in North America can therefore appear under the following calendar date on EZTips.
Odds are updated once daily and remain unchanged on EZTips until the next daily update. Cards do not display an odds-recorded timestamp, so the precise age of an individual price is not shown. Confirm the available price on LuckyBlock before placing a bet.
The wider Basketball Odds page provides access to other available basketball competitions. Identify the fixture, understand the market and confirm the price and rules before making a comparison.
What This Page Provides
Readers compare the outcome prices within each displayed anonymous set. Each set contains LuckyBlock-supplied prices; it does not identify the cheapest operator across sportsbooks. It does not provide a confirmed EZTips selection, expert pick or independently calculated probability.
Sportsbook names are not shown beside the hub’s price sets.
Why a Price Set May Be Missing
EZTips hides an entire set when a required outcome price is missing. Do not assume every missing set indicates an injury, suspended betting or a cancelled fixture. The page does not verify those explanations for each absence.
How Decimal NBA Odds Affect Your Return
Decimal odds show the total return for each unit staked on a winning bet. That return includes the original stake.
For example, a hypothetical $10 bet at decimal odds of 2.50 produces a total winning return of $10 × 2.50 = $25. Profit is $25 − $10 = $15.
Under simple win-or-lose settlement, a losing bet loses the $10 stake. Voids and other settlement outcomes depend on the operator’s rules. A $25 return is not $25 profit.
What a Price Implies
Raw implied probability = 1 ÷ decimal odds.
At 2.50, the calculation is 1 ÷ 2.50 = 40%. Under simple win-or-lose settlement, 40% is the break-even win rate associated with that price. It is not an independently verified 40% chance of the outcome occurring.
A unique lowest price within a correctly identified market represents the shortest-priced outcome. It does not guarantee that outcome will win. Confirm the market period before interpreting the home, tie and away prices.
What Historical NBA Prices Can Teach You
These examples are published historical quotations, not a complete price archive. They were selected after the results were known to explain price timing and uncertainty, rather than to test a betting strategy. No profitability study or representative favourite or underdog strike rate has been established.
Exact price-capture times and full contemporaneous settlement terms were unavailable. A publication date is not an odds timestamp, and the quotations are not verified closing prices.
Historical raw implied probabilities are calculated from the original American quotations; opposing prices were not verified as synchronised, so no historical margin-adjusted probabilities are claimed.
Linked publications identify their historical price sources. They are separate from the LuckyBlock data displayed on EZTips and do not constitute operator recommendations. Decimal conversions below are approximate and rounded to two decimal places; calculations use unrounded inputs.
Two Dated Series Prices in the 2026 Finals
The 2025–26 Finals between San Antonio and New York provide a historical example of price timing.
An opening-price publication dated 30 May 2026 quoted San Antonio at −205 and New York at +170 to win the series. A later publication dated 3 June quoted the same series market at
San Antonio −185 and New York +155. Both publications attributed their prices to the same sportsbook.
The first pair converts to approximately 1.49 for San Antonio and 2.70 for New York, with raw implied probabilities of 67.21% and 37.04%. The later pair converts to 1.54 and 2.55, with raw implied probabilities of 64.91% and 39.22%.
The publications do not reveal the full path or cause of the movement.
New York won the series 4–1, according to NBA Communications. Under identical win-or-lose settlement, a winning $10 New York series bet would return $27 at the first quote and $25.50 at the later quote. The difference is $1.50 for the same stake and winning selection.
The practical lesson is that a different price changes the return for the same selection and stake.
Indiana and Oklahoma City in the 2025 Finals Opener
Indiana visited Oklahoma City for Game 1 of the 2024–25 Finals on 5 June 2025 at 8:30 p.m. ET, equivalent to 6 June at 6:00 a.m. IST.
The published pregame observations listed Oklahoma City at −420, Indiana at +330, the Thunder −9.5 and a total of 230.5.
Oklahoma City’s moneyline converts to approximately 1.24 decimal odds and 80.77% raw implied probability. Indiana’s converts to 4.30 and 23.26%.
Indiana won 111–110, according to the official NBA game record. The combined total was 221, which was 9.5 points below the quoted 230.5 line.
A winning $10 Indiana moneyline bet at the quoted 4.30 price would return $43, including $33 profit, under the relevant win-or-lose settlement. This is conditional payout arithmetic.
A strong favourite can lose: Oklahoma City’s short price did not prevent an outright defeat.
Other Historical Lessons
Boston’s 107–89 win over Dallas in the 2024 Finals opener illustrates how game winner, handicap and total measure different things. Boston’s 18-point margin cleared the quoted −6.5 line, while the 196 combined points were below 214.5. See the historical quotation and NBA result.
After Indiana won the 2025 opener, Oklahoma City’s quoted series price lengthened to −300 from an initial −650, having reached −700. The Thunder still won the series 4–3. A series price concerns the whole series, not the next game. Sources: published repricing and NBA series record.
Before Game 7 in 2025, a reported Thunder handicap moved from −8.5 to −6.5 at one sportsbook. Oklahoma City’s 12-point winning margin exceeded both quoted handicaps. The attached prices were unavailable, so a payout comparison cannot be made. Sources: contemporary report and NBA result.
In Game 5 of the 2026 Finals, New York won 94–90 against a quoted San Antonio −5.5 handicap and 215.5 total. The 184 combined points were below the total. The quoted game moneylines matched earlier series quotations numerically, but those were different markets. Sources: Game 5 quotation and official Finals release.
How Past NBA Performance Provides Context
Historical prices show what was quoted. Team statistics describe performance over a defined period. Each fixture has a unique context, so read every statistic with its date, sample and limitations.
Start With a Full Season Baseline
Boston finished the 2023–24 regular season 64–18 across 82 games, according to the NBA’s offseason analysis.
Its reported offensive rating was 122.2 points per 100 possessions, defensive rating 110.6, net rating +11.7 and pace approximately 98 possessions per 48 minutes. League offensive efficiency that season was 114.5.
Boston’s win percentage was approximately 78.05%. Its offensive efficiency exceeded the league figure by 7.7 points per 100 possessions. The reported net rating retains the source’s rounding: separately rounded offensive and defensive figures need not subtract exactly to the published net figure.
These statistics describe Boston’s season. They do not establish a 78.05% chance against every opponent or measure betting returns.
Compare Like Periods and Methods
Oklahoma City also finished 64–18 across 82 games in 2025–26, producing the same 78.05% win percentage. Official team reporting recorded a 106.5 defensive rating and +11.1 net rating. Sources: the May 2026 release and July 2026 release.
The matching records do not establish equal strength or equal betting value. The teams played in different seasons with different schedules and player groups. Use the same provider’s methodology when directly comparing efficiency figures, because possession estimates can differ.
High scoring alone can mislead. A faster game creates more possessions, while efficiency measures scoring per possession. Read pace alongside offence and defence.
Separate Regular Season and Playoff Evidence
NBA Communications reported New York’s completed 2026 postseason record as 16–3 across 19 games, its road record as 9–1 across 10 games, its total point differential as +283 and its Finals result as 4–1.
Those records produce an 84.21% postseason win rate and a 90.00% road win rate. The +283 differential averages approximately +14.89 points per game across 19 games.
The denominators differ. A 90% road win rate across 10 games is not a 90% probability for the next road fixture. These are completed-postseason facts. They were not all available before the Finals began and must not be presented as information available at that earlier point.
The road record shows that venue alone did not determine this particular run. It does not erase broader home-court effects.
Check Recent Opponents and Sample Size
A hypothetical team winning four of five games has an 80% win rate. Boston’s 64 wins in 82 games produce a similar-looking 78.05%. One additional loss changes the short record to four wins in six games, or 66.67%.
The small sample moves sharply. A recent run needs context: opponents, availability, venue and prices. Define the window before examining results, such as the last 10 completed games, rather than choosing the stretch that makes a team look strongest.
A winning streak describes a sequence. It does not supply a calibrated probability for the next game.
Account for Availability Rest and Travel
Historical records may describe a different roster from the one playing today. Check who remains, who is available and whether recent opponents provide a useful comparison.
Use current, dated official injury reports and distinguish confirmed absences from uncertain statuses. An old injury article does not establish present availability. The official NBA injury-report reference for 2025–26 concerns that historical season, rather than current player status.
Check local fixture dates to identify back-to-back games, then consider rest, travel and comparable opponents. Do not assign a fixed numerical advantage or disadvantage to an injury, venue or rest situation without supporting evidence.
Rebounding, turnover and shooting rates are most useful when their periods and denominators are explicit. Several statistics describing the same effect do not necessarily add independent evidence.
Why a Strong Record Does Not Establish Betting Value
Winning frequently and winning enough at a particular price are different questions.
Under simple win-or-lose settlement, expected value per unit staked = estimated win probability × decimal odds − 1.
For a hypothetical independent estimate of 45% at odds of 2.50, the calculation is 0.45 × 2.50 − 1, or approximately +0.13 units. The arithmetic depends on the probability estimate being credible. EZTips has not supplied an independent probability estimate for this page.
A historical win percentage cannot simply replace that estimate. Opponents, rosters, competition phases and prices change. Popular selections and favourable-looking price movement do not independently prove value either. Betting-distribution percentages describe popularity under their source’s methodology; they are not automatically probabilities of winning.
The Basketball Predictions page explains EZTips’ market-implied selections. Read those selections with their stated methodology and limitations.
How NBA Price Changes Affect Returns
A price can change between observations. Identifying the reason requires dated evidence. The 2026 Finals series example establishes different published prices on 30 May and 3 June. It does not establish whether availability news, betting activity or another factor caused the movement.
A hypothetical example shows the arithmetic. If the same selection shortens from 2.20 to 1.90, raw implied probability rises from approximately 45.45% to 52.63%. A winning $10 return falls from $22 to $19.
The shorter price pays less for the same stake. It does not independently establish betting value. Check the handicap as well as the price: a different spread changes the contract, while a different price changes the return attached to a contract.
Keep Odds Formats and Markets Separate
American and decimal odds are formats. Moneyline, spread, totals and series winner are markets.
At American odds of −110, a bettor risks $110 to make $100 profit. This is not a flat $10 fee charged on every $100 stake. Both teams can have negative American moneyline prices. A negative sign alone does not identify the shorter-priced team; compare the actual numbers.
A half-point handicap prevents a push caused by an exact numerical tie on that line. It does not prevent every possible void or cancellation.
Moneyline, spread, totals and series markets appear here as education and historical examples. Their inclusion does not confirm that those markets are displayed on this EZTips hub.
Nor does this research establish alternate lines for every fixture.
Bookmaker Margin in a Complete Set
Consider a hypothetical market with three mutually exclusive outcomes covering every possible result. Label them A, B and C, with decimal prices of 2.00, 4.00 and 3.00.
Their raw implied probabilities are 50.00%, 25.00% and approximately 33.33%. Together, they total approximately 108.33%. The amount above 100%, approximately 8.33 percentage points, is the overround.
One proportional adjustment divides each raw implied probability by their combined total. This produces approximately 46.15%, 23.08% and 30.77%.
Adjusted share = (1 ÷ outcome odds) ÷ sum of all raw implied probabilities.
This method removes the overround proportionally. It does not establish true probabilities, prove positive expected value or represent a proprietary EZTips model. Overround is not the sportsbook’s guaranteed realised profit.
These A/B/C labels are an educational illustration. Apply this calculation only to a complete market whose outcomes and rules you have checked. Use complete prices from the same sportsbook, market and timestamp. Combining prices from different operators does not calculate one bookmaker’s margin.
Use Historical Context Without Hindsight
Separate information available before a game from results learned afterwards. A new article discussing an old season does not turn those figures into current form.
Understand the market and set an affordable spending limit before placing a bet.
