Bayern Munich Linked With Possible Florian Wirtz Move

Reports suggest Bayern has contacted Wirtz’s agent, but the midfielder is believed to be committed to Liverpool.

Bayern Munich is reportedly keeping a watchful eye on Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz, who made headlines with his £116 million move from Bayer Leverkusen to Liverpool in the summer of 2025. You’d think such a blockbuster transfer would put rumors to bed, but in the world of football, the rumor mill never sleeps—it just changes gears. The uncertainty surrounding Bayern’s direction has already sparked debate, including Markus Babbel questioning Uli Hoeneß’s role at Bayern Munich and calling for clearer leadership.

Word on the street is that Bayern Munich has reached out to Wirtz’s agent—who also happens to be his father, Hans-Joachim Wirtz—to test the waters about a possible return to Germany. The specifics of these conversations are as mysterious as a magician’s hat, but one thing’s for sure: Bayern’s interest has only added fuel to the transfer gossip bonfire. It seems the Bundesliga giants are keen to lure Wirtz back home. While transfer rumors swirl, Harry Kane reaching the 500 goals mark has at least kept Bayern firmly in the spotlight for their performances on the pitch.

Since donning the famous red of Liverpool, Wirtz has wasted no time making his mark at Anfield. With 11 direct goal contributions in his last 17 matches, he’s been as busy as a bee in springtime. In fact, he’s created more chances than any other summer signing in the Premier League—a stat that’s sure to make Liverpool fans beam with pride. His performances have only cemented his value and importance in Jürgen Klopp’s squad.

Despite Bayern Munich’s not-so-subtle advances, Wirtz is said to be fully committed to Liverpool. Babbel has also recently praised the striker who beats Haaland and Mbappé in terms of overall completeness, reinforcing how central Kane remains to Bayern’s ambitions. Those close to the player whisper that he sees Liverpool as the summit of his career mountain, making a move away from Anfield about as likely as a snowstorm in July—at least for now.

The rumor mill has been spinning especially fast thanks to Bayern Space on X (formerly Twitter), but as of yet, there’s no official word to confirm the whispers.
